Hyderabad: Telangana governor and also Lieutenant Governor Puducherry, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan administered first aid to a co- passenger who fell sick on aboard Delhi-Hyderabad midnight flight on a return from Varanasi.
After a passenger became seriously ill with the complaint of chest pain and other problems while on flight on Friday night, flight crew asked whether there was any doctor on the flight.
Dr Tamilisai, who was a practicing gynecologist before entering politics, responded immediately and provided the treatment to the patient, who got relief.
The passengers on board appreciated the efforts of the Governor and thanked her profusely. A few passengers also took pictures of her and uploaded them on social media platforms, which became viral.
On Twitter, Dr Tamilisai said there was a panic call from the air hostess while the flight was in mid air.
"Got up to rush to the rear to see a passenger looking drowsy sweating profusely (indigestion symptoms)," she tweeted.
"Made him lie flat checked vitals with First Aid and supportive drugs and assurance there was smile on his face as much as on co-passengers. On arrival," Dr Tamilisai said.
On arrival he was transported in a wheelchair to the airport medical booth. "Appreciate @IndiGo6E airhostess and staff for timely alert and facilitation," the governor tweeted.
