Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso was expelled from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games athletes' village for reportedly causing a distraction to her teammates with her glamorous presence.

The 20-year-old, who recently competed in the women's 100m butterfly event but did not advance to the semifinals, was sent back home after the Paraguay team manager accused her of creating an “inappropriate atmosphere” within the contingent.

“Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay,” Larissa Schaerer, the head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, said in a statement. “We thank her for proceeding as instructed, as it was of her own free will that she did not spend the night in the Athletes’ Village.”

Reports claim, Alonso took a Disneyland Paris detour instead of supporting teammates. There were also claims she checked into a Paris hotel and visited local shops and restaurants.

Despite an exit from the competition, athletes are allowed to stay in the Village till the end of the Games.

According to a report by Blast, she was asked to vacate her apartment as her teammates were getting distracted by her beauty.

Soon after her exit from Paris, Alonso, who recently received a tattoo of the international event’s five rings on her hip, announced her retirement from swimming.
