Two men in Noida suffered a tragic fate after leaving chhole (chickpeas) cooking on a burning stove overnight for their "chole bhature" stall in Noida's Sector 70.

Upendra, 22, and Shivam, 23, had a street food stall where they sold chole bhature and kulche. On the fateful night of January 10, they placed the chickpeas on the stove to cook, but then went to sleep, forgetting to turn off the gas.

As the room was closed, it filled with smoke, and the chickpeas continued to cook, releasing toxic fumes. The men allegedly died of asphyxiation due to carbon monoxide poisoning from the smoke. Neighbors noticed the smoke a few hours later, broke into the house, and found the two men unconscious. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajiv Gupta noted that the closed room and burning stove created a lethal combination, emphasizing the need for awareness about such hazards.

The incident highlights the importance of kitchen safety and the dangers of leaving cooking unattended.
