In a disturbing case from Uttar Pradesh, a newly married woman has accused her husband and in-laws of harassment, dowry demands, and cruelty. The complaint alleges that her husband, obsessed with Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi, forced her into extreme workouts and starvation to achieve a figure like the actress.

Forced Workouts and Starvation

The woman, who married Shivam Ujjwal, a government physical education teacher from Meerut, on March 6, 2025, lodged her complaint at Muradnagar Police Station. She claimed that soon after marriage, her husband began comparing her to Nora Fatehi, pressuring her to exercise for three hours daily. If she failed, she was allegedly denied food.

She added that despite being of “normal height and fair complexion,” she was constantly taunted for her looks by her husband and in-laws.

Allegations of Abuse and Miscarriage

The woman further alleged that Ujjwal often claimed his life was “ruined” by marrying her and that he could have chosen a woman as beautiful as Nora Fatehi. She also accused him of showing interest in other women and watching objectionable content on social media.

In a more serious allegation, she claimed that when she became pregnant, she was secretly given abortion pills, which led to a miscarriage.

Dowry Harassment Claims

According to the complaint, her in-laws also subjected her to mental and physical torture over dowry. Despite receiving jewellery worth Rs 16 lakh, a Mahindra Scorpio worth Rs 24 lakh, and Rs 10 lakh in cash during the wedding, her in-laws allegedly demanded more. The victim’s family claimed to have spent nearly Rs 76 lakh on the marriage.

Police Action

Police have registered a case against the woman’s husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law in this matter and are investigating further.
