Following the investigation, Chief Medical Officer Dr. RK Singh has terminated Dr. Pant’s services. Two staff nurses on duty at the time — Gyanendri and Vanshika Mittal — were also found negligent. Adverse entries have been made in their service records.

Incident Details

As per reports, a pregnant woman in labour pain arrived at the women’s hospital seeking treatment on Monday night. Dr. Saloni Pant examined her but refused to admit her, instructing her to go home. The woman’s family lodged a complaint with CMO Dr. RK Singh, prompting the health department to initiate a formal investigation under Dr. RV Singh.

Investigation Findings

The probe revealed that Dr. Saloni Pant failed to admit the woman in time, directly leading to the delivery taking place on the floor. Both nurses on duty were also found negligent for showing no urgency in admitting the patient.

The investigation also highlighted lapses in hospital management.
