A shocking incident unfolded at Jabalpur Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh, where a passenger was harassed by a samosa vendor after his digital payment failed. The confrontation was caught on camera, and the video has since gone viral on social media.

The clip shows the passenger attempting to pay for samosas via a mobile payment app, which reportedly failed due to a technical glitch. As the passenger’s train began departing the platform, the vendor grabbed him by the collar and insisted he pay before leaving. In a desperate bid to catch his train, the passenger handed over his smartwatch to the vendor as collateral and ran to board the train.

The incident took place on Friday, October 17, around 5:30 PM on Platform No. 5 of Jabalpur Railway Station. According to reports, the passenger had ordered samosas from a stall and tried to pay using PhonePe, but the transaction did not go through. The vendor accused him of wasting time and refused to let him go without payment or taking the food.

The video shows the vendor finally handing the man two plates of samosas after receiving the smartwatch, allowing him to catch the train.

The incident has sparked outrage online, raising serious concerns over passenger safety and vendor behaviour at railway stations.

Vendor Detained by RPF

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) swiftly took action after the video went viral. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Jabalpur, confirmed via X (formerly Twitter):

“The vendor has been identified, and a case has been registered against him by the RPF. He has been taken into custody, and action is being initiated to cancel the license of the licensee.”
