Shahjahanpur: Manager of a transport company was allegedly beaten to death by its owners and others in Sadar Bazar area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here.
Police sources said that Adhir Chaudhary, a resident of Azizganj locality under Chowk police station, gave a complaint to police that his son Shivam alias Anshul was working in Suri Transport as the manager for the last seven years.
"In his complaint Adhir has stated that on Tuesday they received information from an employee of the transport company that Shivam was admitted to medical college," they said.
Police sources said that Adhir stated that by the time the family members reached the medical college Shivam was dead. "He said that when the police removed the clothes of Shivam there were dark lesion marks on his body," they said.
Police sources said that some items were stolen from Kanhaiya Hosiery in Katiya Tola locality and Shivam was accused of theft. "A video of Shivam being thrashed with a stick after being tied with a pole went viral on social media after which the police swung into action. The viral video is being said of the godown of Kanhaiya Hosiery," they said.

Superintendent of Police S Anand said that a case was lodged against owner of Kanhaiya Hosiery Neeraj Gupta, owner of Suri Transport Bankim Suri, Kunal Arora, Shivam Gupta, Neeraj's accountant, Keshav and one more person late on Wednesday night.
Police sources said that the owner of the transport company has been detained and is being quizzed. (UNI)
