In a bizarre incident, a man from Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh has filed a complaint claiming that his wife turns into a “nagin” (female serpent) at night and terrifies him.
The complainant, identified as Meraj from Lodhasa village in Mahmudabad tehsil, approached District Magistrate Abhishek Anand during a Samadhan Diwas (public grievance redressal day) held on October 4. He said he was unable to sleep at night because his wife, Nasimun, allegedly behaves like a serpent, hissing and frightening him.
According to officials present at the event, Meraj described his wife as mentally unstable and said her nightly behavior had made his life difficult. The unusual nature of the complaint left those in attendance stunned.
District Magistrate Abhishek Anand directed the local police to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
A police official later confirmed, “We have received the complaint, and the matter is under investigation.”
