A bizarre incident from Bengaluru has sparked outrage after a woman and her family allegedly tried to “courier” her elderly father inside a sack for a social media reel, raising serious concerns over dangerous content creation.
The incident reportedly occurred at a courier office under the limits of the Vyalikaval Police Station. The family arrived with a large sack and requested staff to ship it, but their reluctance to reveal its contents immediately raised suspicion.
When employees decided to inspect the parcel, they were shocked to find an elderly man inside the sack. Reports say the man appeared distressed and struggled to breathe after being confined in the tightly packed bag.
Upon questioning, the family claimed the act was staged for a social media video. They said the idea was meant to highlight travel difficulties during festivals like Ugadi and Ramzan, when tickets are often hard to get. The concept, they explained, was to humorously portray “couriering a person” as a last resort.
Despite the shocking discovery, the family allegedly insisted that the courier staff proceed with the shipment, escalating the situation. This prompted employees to alert the police.
Authorities soon arrived and took the family in for questioning. Police later confirmed that the group recorded an apology video, admitting their actions were irresponsible and risky. They were let off with a strict warning, and no formal case was registered.
The incident has since gone viral, triggering widespread criticism online over the growing trend of extreme and unsafe stunts for social media attention.
