‘Denied conjugal rights’: Man sues wife for visiting him only on two weekends in a month
A Gujarat man has approached a family court against his wife
The husband argued that his wife, after the birth of their child, continued to live with her parents under the pretext of her job
He alleged that his wife visit him only on the second and fourth weekends
He claimed that his conjugal rights as a husband were being violated
He insisted in court that his wife should be directed to stay with him daily
The wife has now approached the Gujarat High Court challenging the maintainability of her husband's suit
She asserted that she regularly visits her matrimonial home every second weekend and continues to fulfill her duties diligently
Justice V D Nanavati, presiding over the case, raised question: "What is wrong if the husband asks his wife to come and stay with him? Does he not have the right to sue?"
The judge has issued notice to the husband to respond by January 25
