‘Your hard work is yours’: Thieves return Tamil director’s national award medal with apology note

In a bizarre incident, thieves returned the National Award medal that they had stolen from Tamil director Manikandan's residence with an apology note Freepik/Social Media

The theft took place at Manikandan's Usilampatti residence in Madurai, Tamil Nadu

The thieves had stolen gold jewellery, cash, and other valuable items from Manikandan's house

When the thieves realised that they had also stolen director’s National Award medal, they decided to return it

They also sent him an apology note: “Sir! Please forgive me. Your hard work is yours”

A photo of the note is now going viral on the internet

Meanwhile, the cash and jewellery are still missing

Manikandan had won the National Award medal for his 2021 film 'Kadaisi Vivasayi'
