Aamir Khan ends 15 years of marital relationship with second wife Kiran Rao amicably

Mumbai:Film Actor Aamir Khan and producer cum director Kiran Rao have announced their divorce on Saturday, describing their divorce as begining of a new journey.

 
In a joint statement the. couple said they will co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan, as well as continue with their professional partnership on Paani Foundation and ‘other projects .
 
In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives - no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other,” a statement issued by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao said.
 
The statement added that Aamir and Kiran separated ‘some time ago’ and added that despite living apart, the couple will ‘nurture and raise’ their son Azad Rao Khan together. “We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does. We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together,” the statement added.

It is to be noted that first wife of Aamir Khan was Reena Dutta from whom he has a son Junaid Khan and daughter Ira Khan. While Kiran is the biological mother of son Azad. Aamir divorced his first wife after 16 years of marriage.(UNI)
