Mumbai: Bollywood actor Govinda sustains a bullet injury in his leg and was taken to the hospital here on Tuesday morning.
According to initial reports, he accidentally shot himself with his revolver at around 5 am this morning. He sustained a bullet injury to his leg.
60-year-old actor, a former MP who now joins chief minister Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena was alone at his Juhu home at the time of the incident.
The actor was injured while cleaning a weapon at his home when a bullet hit his knee, and he was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit, sources said.
Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, reported that the actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata when his revolver fell from his hand, resulting in an accidental bullet fired.
His wife Sunita Ahuja was in Kolkata. Police said he has not registered any complaint. Govinda was rushed to Criticare Hospital near his home and returned after treatment.
