The release of Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Samyuktha, and Aadhi Pinisetty, has been postponed. The makers cited “unavoidable circumstances” for the delay.
Produced jointly by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, the movie was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 5. The team has now delayed the release and issued an apology to fans.
On X, 14 Reels Plus shared, “With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that Akhanda2 will not be released as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances. We understand the disappointment this brings to fans and movie lovers awaiting the film. We are working tirelessly to resolve the matter and promise to share a positive update soon. Your support means the world to us.”
The makers also canceled the film’s India premieres that were scheduled for December 4, citing technical issues. The overseas premieres, however, proceeded as planned.
Following the massive success of the first Akhanda, fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel. The trailer, running two minutes and forty-one seconds, opens with a portrayal of evil forces, both domestic and international, threatening the country’s spiritual freedom.
It then introduces Balakrishna as Akhanda, the protector of Hinduism, who faces off against Aadhi Pinisetty, playing a mystic with the ability to summon a demonic skeleton. High-octane action sequences featuring Balakrishna are among the trailer’s standout moments.
