South Indian director Atlee had proclaimed during the making of "Jawan" that Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan would earn a National Award for portraying the protagonist in the film, says rising actress Sanya Malhotra.Atlee's prediction has proved prophetic.
Unveiled in 2023, "Jawan" not only became a cultural phenomenon but also gave SRK one of the most powerful roles of his career.Sanya Malhotra, who acted in the film, recently shared that during the filming of Jawan, Atlee confidently predicted that Shah Rukh Khan would be recognised with a National Award for his performance.
During the promotion of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Sanya recalled, “Oh, he (SRK) is fantastic! And when we were shooting for Jawan, Atlee sir had predicted that Shah Rukh Khan was going to win a National Award. He used to say it with so much confidence! And look at him now. He won the National Award. He’s amazing.”
This prophecy now stands etched in cinematic history. Khan finally won his maiden National Film Award after three decades in the industry, a milestone not only for him but also for Atlee, whose directing and storytelling abilities provided the perfect platform for one of Shah Rukh's most memorable performances.
