New Delhi: Filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain and Pragya Kapoor join hands to produce a movie on the 2019 Balakot airstrike.
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie is based on the Balakot airstrike in Pakistan that was conducted on February 26, 2019 after a suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama on February 14. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who shot down a Pakistani fighter jet during an aerial engagement with the Pakistan Air Force, was captured by the Pakistani army and kept in custody for 60 hours.
Guy in the Sky Pictures (GITS), the production company established by director Abhishek Kapoor and Pragya Kapoor made the official announcement saying,''A story of grit, determination and valour... Proud to announce Abhishek Kapoor's next based on #2019BalakotAirstrike.''
Abhishek last directed Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer 'Kedarnath'. (UNI)
