The set of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 has reportedly been sealed by Karnataka government authorities over environmental violations, leading to the temporary suspension of the popular reality show. The move has sparked widespread speculation and concern among fans.

The latest season, hosted by Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep, had only recently gone on air. The show was being filmed at the 35-acre Jollywood Studios and Adventures, operated by Vels Studios and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., located in Bidadi, Ramanagara district, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Why Was the Set Sealed?

According to SS Lingaraju, Member Secretary of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), the closure order was issued due to multiple environmental violations. Speaking to ANI, Lingaraju stated, “The board doesn't know about any Big Boss or anything, maybe they are inside the premises of this Vels Studio. Vels Studio is the actual occupier of that land, and they don't have the actual consent for operation as per the rules under the Air Act and Water Act. For this reason, and due to some non-compliances, a closure order was issued.”

He further explained that the studio was running various activities, including an amusement park and hotel accommodations, without the mandatory permissions.

“They don't have consent, consent to operate. They run some amusement park, there are some hotel rooms and some STP of 250 KLD (Sewage Treatment Plant designed to treat 250,000 liters of sewage daily) which is not in operation and some solid waste management is not in according to the norms of PCB and all these things non-observation, they were there, non-compliances, beside that they don't, they didn't apply for the consent to operate, that is a mandatory thing under Air Act and Water Act. That is not there; that's why we issued the closure order,” he added.

Reports indicate that approximately 2.5 lakh litres of untreated wastewater were discovered on-site due to the non-functional sewage treatment system.

What Happened to the Contestants?

Following the closure order, all 17 contestants inside the Bigg Boss house were evacuated immediately. Ramnagar Tehsildar Tejaswini personally supervised the evacuation and ensured that contestants left the premises safely. According to sources, the contestants have since been relocated to the Eagleton Resort nearby.

Pre-Recorded Content

Even though the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 house in Bidadi has been sealed due to environmental violations, the show’s telecast and live feed continue uninterrupted thanks to pre-recorded content.

The live feed on JioCinema and the episodes on Colors Kannada are currently showing footage recorded earlier, giving the impression that activities inside the house are ongoing. With a 24-hour delay between filming and broadcast, events from Sunday and Monday were aired on Tuesday. This pre-recorded content is expected to keep the show running smoothly for the next few days without disruption.

On Tuesday, the telecast was briefly delayed, prompting Colors Kannada to issue a clarification. The network cited “unforeseen circumstances” and confirmed that the episode was later made available on JioCinema for viewers.

Will The Show Stopped Midway?

Although producers and network have not released an official statement, reports indicate that shooting may resume at the same or a new location once the controversy subsides.
