Emraan Hashmi to play lead in Netflix original series 'bard of Blood'

Mumbai: After the excellent response to its first Indian original series 'Sacred games', Netflix has roped in Emraan Hashmi as the lead in its next series 'bard of Blood'.''God has given you one face and you make another. Emraan Hashmi is Kabir Anand in The Bard of Blood!,''Netflix India announced on its official twitter handle where it posted a promotional video of the series.
Based on Bilal Siddiqi's 2015 novel of the same name, the eight-part series is about former spy Kabir Ahmed (Hashmi), who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and long-lost love.
 
The series, to be will be shot in Hindi, Urdu, English and other languages,  has been co-produced by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.On being roped in as a part of the sries, Emraam said,''To be, or not to be'... The answer is to be. Ready 'to be' Kabir Anand. Excited to be a part of this thrilling journey !! ''
 
Emran said he was getting ready to be in his character in the series.''The King hath spoken... getting into my character already.  Thank you for making me a part of this journey, @iamsrk . We'll make something special !!,''Emraan said.
 
Welcoming Emraan in the series, Superstart Shahrukh Khan said,''Be! Be! Welcome aboard my friend. Here's to a journey full of excitement & drama.''
 
'Bard of Blood' is the second of the Indian original series produced by Netflix after the success of its first series 'Sacred games', featuring Saif Ali khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.'Sacred Games', opened to critical and commercial success on July 6. 
 
Also on the anvi for Netflix is horror thriller 'Ghoul', starring radhika Apte and Manav Kaul, which will be released on August 24. Other Indian originals in the pipeline include the horror series 'Leila', Binky Mendez's young adult series 'Crocodile', sports drama 'Selection Day' and detective series 'Again'. (UNI)
