Film actor R Madhvan gets DLitt degree from D Y Patil University

Kolhapur: Renowed Hindi film actor R Madhavan and littérateur Kuntinath Karke were awarded DLitt (Doctor of Literature) degree in a convocation function of Dr D Y Patil (Deemed) University held at a hotel here on Wednesday.

Dr Vijay Khole, former vice-chancellor of the Mumbai University, was the chief guest for the function.Along with Mr Madhavan and Mr Karke, Air Marshal Ajit Shankarrao Bhosale was also honoured with DSc (Doctor of Science) degree by Dr Khole.

Besides them, degrees were also awarded to total 361 students of various fields, including MBBS, MD, MS, PG Diploma, MSc, BSc, PBBSC (Nursing), MSc(N).Of them, nine students were honoured with gold medals and two for excellence in research.(UNI)
