Mumbai: Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi, whose latest film 'Partition: 1947', dealing with the events surrounding the Partition of the country, feels that the film is also relevant to today's age and time.'Today also people and families are getting separated due to political reasons or wars.
Therefore, movies like 'Partition: 1947' must be made and people should watch it so that they can realize that the condition that is going on is not right,' Huma said at an event in the Capital.
Speaking at the launch of 'Rabbit Hole', a luxurious lounge in Hauz Khas Village, Huma, who was in the capital along with the film's director Gurinder Chadha and famous Indian singer-songwriter and music producer Sukhe, said ,'What happened with the families at that time (1947) needs to be told to people.
' Talking to reporters at the launch of the premium lounge overlooking the beautiful lake of Hauz Khas Village, Huma said people need to take a lesson from the happenings during Partition.
'The movie shows that when political decision like Partition was taken, a line was made to demarcate which was not on the map but was in the hearts of the people, in the houses of the common citizens and how they were affected by that thing.'Movies like this make us realise that we must stop all these things and learn a lesson,'she said.
