Mumbai: There was a time when an SRK movie used to be the first choice for the Big screen owners and shows were maximized to ensure mammoth earnings. But Jab Harry met Sejal has not only disappointed audience and critics alike, but also the distributors. Following the negative reviews, it is the first instance when the shows of an SRK movie have been cut short. The multiplex owners have decided to increase the number of shows of Mubarakan.
The reason behind the slump is the lukewarm response of viewers at the box-office. The first weekend collection of JHMS has been stagnant at 15 crore mark (Friday: 15.25 crore, Saturday: 15 Crore, Sunday 15.50 crore. Generally, movies perform better on the day of festival, but it was not the case with JHMS. Instead 50 percent drop in the collection was witnessed. The movie collected a meagre amount of 7.15 crore, making the gross collection 52.90 crore. Forget 100 crore, now it seems JHMS producer won’t even be able to recollect the budget of movie which is 80 crore.  (WD)
