Late Wajid Khan’s wife Kamarukh claims of being forced to convert

Mumbai Kamarukh, the wife of late music composer accused her in laws of forcing her to convert to Islam. She opened up about the atrocities she has had to face since their marriage by her husband and his family in an Instagram post made recently from her account.

Wajid and Kamarukh were high school sweethearts and were together for 10 years before

finally tying the knot and coming into the holy relationship of marriage which was performed

under the Special Marriage Act (the act that lets you practice your own religion after marriage).

Although that didn’t seem to be such an intelligent act as post marriage, Wajid and his family

started forcing her to convert to Islam that she denied to do.

Kamarukh says that she belongs to a Parsi family where democracy was accepted and healthy

debates were welcome which she felt was not the case in her new family.Even after the death of the musician, the family has been forcing his wife who is only trying to fight for the rights of her children. The Khan family is keeping the kids from the inheritance they deserve because of the untimely death of their father.

A mother of two, Kamalrukh says she feels helpless as her children are facing the repercussions of her decisions. She even wrote in her Instagram post, “Wajid was a super talented musician and composer who devoted his life to making melodies. My children and I miss him dearly and wish he had dedicated more time to us as a family, devoid of religious prejudices, the way he did while creating his melodies.

We never got to be a family because of his and his family’ religious fanaticism. Today, post his untimely death, the harassment from his family continues.”The musician’s wife was tortured mentally and was even taken to the court to get a divorce as a means to threaten her to convert to Islam. These kinds of acts also led to the arguments in the couple and regular disputes and disagreements.Late Wajid Khan was one of the famous musician duo Sajid-Wajid.
