Acclaimed filmmaker and actor Rajat Kapoor, known for his nuanced storytelling in movies such as "Ankhon Dekhi", "Kapoor & Sons" and "Dil Chahta Hai", has candidly admitted that the most arduous challenge he faces is not the craft of filmmaking itself, but the relentless pursuit of financial backing.

Participating in the session In Conversation: Rajat Kapoor & Radheshyam Pipalawa on the third day of the 13th Jagran Film Festival 2025, Kapoor reflected on the demands of the profession shortly before the premiere of his latest feature, "Putul", which was screened for the audience immediately after the conversation.

Sharing his thoughts, Rajat Kapoor said, “Most of my time is spent in raising funds to make the film, and that is the most tiring and difficult part. On the contrary, writing is a lot more fun. What I love about filmmaking is that each stage is completely different from the other. Writing is a solitary pleasure, shooting is beautiful chaos with 120 people, and editing is a quiet, intimate process. There is no part of filmmaking that I don’t love.”  (UNI)
