Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni on Monday disclosed that one of his family members was trapped in a “digital arrest” scam for two days, about six months ago.
Speaking at a press conference alongside Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar and several film industry representatives, Nagarjuna said the fraudsters disappeared the moment police intervened.
“I remember in my own house, about six months ago, the same thing happened. One of my family members was digitally arrested for two days. These organisations (fraudulent) will track us and try to find out our weaknesses,” the actor said.
The press conference was convened as Commissioner Sajjanar announced the arrest of Emmadi Ravi, who operated multiple websites streaming pirated movies.
