Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has officially revealed the title of his next big venture, “Varanasi,” during a grand fan event at Ramoji Film City. The event was attended by the film’s lead cast — Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The title reveal took place on a massive 130 ft by 100 ft screen, the first of its kind in India.
SS Rajamouli took to social media to introduce Mahesh Babu as Rudhra in Varanasi.
The project marks Rajamouli’s first-ever collaboration with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, while Priyanka Chopra makes her return to Indian cinema after The Sky Is Pink (2019).
Mahesh Babu described the film as a “dream project,” adding that audiences across the country would feel proud of the story, in which he plays the central character Rudra.
