Aurangabad:Naam foundation, an NGO founded by veteran actor Nana Patekar announced of donating Rs fifty lakh each to the Maharashtra Chief Minister's fund and PM-CARES Fund to fight against Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
"On behalf of @NaamFoundation we are contributing Rs. 50 lakhs towards hon' @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji's initiative PM-CARES as a support in India's fight against #COVID19," Mr patekar said in a tweet announcing his donation on behalf of the NGO to Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES).
Naam Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation started by Nana Patekar and Marathi actor Makarand Anaspure, aims betterment of farmers in the drought-prone areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha in the state.
The total number of Covid-19 positive cases in the county reached 1,637 on Wednesday with as many as 38 deaths while Maharashtra remains the worst affected state with 302 positive cases and 11 deaths.(UNI)
