Mumbai: Hansal Mehta's 'Omerta' with Rajkummar Rao in the lead, has audiences awaiting it's release on May 4. The makers have now increased audience anticipation by releasing a second chilling trailer that literally connects the dots between Omar Shaikh, Pakistan and the biggest terror attacks of recent times. The trailer points to the role Pakistan's spy agency the ISI played in planning terror activities in India. It also shows how terrorist Omar Shaikh was supported and shielded by the Pakistani state.
The trailer opens with a montage of 9/11, the Mumbai terror strike of 2008 and the brutal beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl and says how all of these bloody terror attacks are linked to the British-Pakistani terrorist Omar Shaikh whose story is told in 'Omerta'. One particular scene where Rajkummar Rao as Omar Shaikh is talking to the captured Daniel Pearl is especially spine-chilling as Rao mouths the words 'I am the saviour' giving a peak into the mind of a maniac. Hansal Mehta says, "The audiences have been waiting very patiently.
And since we are now releasing the film on May 4th, we decided to increase the anticipation with another glimpse into the dark world of Pak sponsored terror with the second trailer." Producer Nahid Khan adds, "It is important for Indian audiences to understand why the story of Omar Shaikh matters to us. He has been the evil force behind some major terror attacks that have hit Indian soil. The second trailer shows that India link to Omar Shaikh." 'Omertà' is the true story of one of the most dreaded terrorists of our times.
Shot in real locations across London and India, Hansal Mehta's Omertà exposes the real and present danger of Pakistan sponsored terror. Woven around bloody terror attacks starting from the kidnapping of foreign tourists to 9/11 and the Mumbai Terror Strike to the brutal beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl, 'Omertà' traverses several different landscapes to tell a gripping thriller. Presented by Swiss Entertainment and Karma Media, produced by Nahid Khan, written by Hansal Mehta and Mukul Dev, directed by Hansal Mehta, Omertà starring Rajkummar Rao and an ensemble featuring Timothy Ryan Hickrnell, Kewal Arora, Rajesh Tailang and others releases on May 4.
