Prez, PM, Bollywood stars wish Amitabh Bachchan on his birthday

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have wished Superstar Amitabh Bachchan on his birthday. ''Birthday wishes to Amitabh Bachchan, film icon as well as unstinting advocate of social causes & nation building missions,'' President Kovind said in his greetings to Mr Bachchan. Washing the superstar on his birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said ''Happy birthday @SrBachchan! India is proud of his cinematic brilliance & support to many social causes. I pray for his long & healthy life.'' Celebrities from the world of Bollywood also wished Mr Bachchan on his birthday on Wednesday.
 

Actors Deepika Padukone, Esha Deol, Ranveer Singh and Shweta Prasad were among those who greeted Mr Bachchan on the occasion. ''Happy birthday to the one and only Amit ji @SrBachchan wishing you good health and happiness always,''actor Esha Deol said. She also posted a picture with the Big B on her Twitter handle. Actor Ranveer Singh tweeted a picture of himself with Mr Bachchan. "Happy Amitabh Bachchan Day to all!", he tweeted. Thanking everyone for their wishes, the Big B, who turned 75, said, ''the affection of greeting for the 75th, displayed over several mediums, overwhelms me .. a thank you shall never be enough''. Sources say that Mr Bachchan and his family are celebrating his birthday with a family vacation in Maldives. (UNI)
