Los Angeles: Actors Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have welcomed their newborn through a surrogate.

The couple shared their joy on Instagram on Friday and announced: "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much" with a red heart emoji.

However, they did not share the baby's name or sex.

Chopra, 39, and Jonas, 29, tied the knot in 2018 in India.

Singer Nick Jonas' brothers, Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas dropped red heart emojis in the comment box.

Actor Katrina Kaif commented: "Congratsssssss..."
