Chennai:Days after actor Rajinikanth bid adieu to politics without taking the eagerly-awaited plunge, Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) on Monday announced that its members were free to join any political party of their choice if they so desired.
In a statement here, RMM Administrator V M Sudhakar said those wishing to join and work in other political party were free to do so after quitting the RMM.

But the members should not forget that even if they join another party, they should not forget that Rajini's fans were the members of the RMM.After announcing that his political entry was confirmed and that he would unveil political plans on the 2021 New Year eve, Rajini made a U-turn and said he was notentering politics and not starting a political party in view of his health condition and the corona pandemic.

After his fans staged a protest demonstration urging the actor to reconsider his decision, Rajini categorically stated that he was firm in his decision and appealed to them not to cause him more pain by organising such protests.(UNI)
