Mumbai: Actor Rajkummar Rao is set to play the lead in a biopic on the life of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla.

The film, being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani, is set to bring to life the compelling story of Bolla who did not let his situation come in the way of his goals. Bolla founded the Bollant Industries.

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the story is penned by Sumit Purohit and Jagdeep Sidhu.

Shooting of the film will commence in July 2022.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the film in a tweet: “Rajkummar Rao to star in biopic on industrialist Srikanth Bolla... #RajkummarRao will essay the lead role in the biopic on industrialist #SrikanthBolla... Hailing from a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Bolla was faced with adversities and overcame various challenges through his determination.

Born to poor parents who missed out on their education, Srikanth faced immense opposition and struggle early in life due to his special situation.

Srikanth had great dreams, and he managed to clear his Class 10 and 12 exams with flying colours. He also managed to be the first international blind student to study at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US.

A strong, trailblazing visionary, Srikanth believes vision has a lot more to do with than just having eyesight. (UNI)
