Mumbai: He may have established a niche for himself as an ‘action hero’ in films like ‘Ghayal’, ‘Gadar’ and Apne’ but Bollywood actor Sunny Deol feels that acting is not just about developing ‘six pack abs’ and showing dance moves."Acting is not just about developing six pack abs and showing dance moves. These are just part of the grooming of an actor.
Acting is much more that these aspects,’’ Sunny said at an event to launch a talent hunt to scout for the leading lady of his son Karan Deol’s debut venture titled ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’.Asked whether his son Karan was aiming to establish himself as a action hero, just as Sunny had done through films like ‘Arjun’, ‘Ghayal’, Ghatak’ and Apne’, Sunny said, "We have been preparing for his debut as an actor for quite some time.
However, he is not specifically looking to establish himself as an action hero or for that matter as a romantic hero."Even when I came in the industry, I was not looking to establish myself in any one genre of roles. As an actor, I want to do all kinds of roles be it action, romantic or an emotional drama.
However, after success of action films like ‘Ghayal’, ‘Ghatak’, Indian’ and ‘Apne’, I was slotted in the image of an action hero.’’ Asked as to what kind of a leading lady he was looking for his son, Sunny said, "She has to be a girl aged between 16 to 20.
Also, since the film has Delhi as its backdrop, what we are looking for is a Delhi-based girl .
She should have a feel of Delhi about her.’’ Sunny said their production house had tied up with PVR for the talent hunt.
"After carrying out auditions in Delhi, we will conduct audition in other cities ,’’ the actor said.
He said they were looking to start production work on the film next year and would be hoping to complete it by the end of next year.
On the title of the film, which is based on a romantic song from Sunny’s father and veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra’s film ‘Blackmail’, Sunny said, "It is definitely one of the most romantic songs .It is also one of my favourite songs.(UNI)
