Amid fourth wave scare, India records 2451 new Covid -19 cases, 54 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 2,451 new covid-19 cases, taking the total tally to 4,30,52 425 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Friday.

As many as 54 fresh Covid fatalities were also recorded, taking the total death count in the country to 5,22116.

The number of active cases stand at 14,241 which now comprises 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, 1,589 recoveries from Covid were also reported, increasing the total number of recoveries to 4,25,16,068.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry as of Friday 83.38 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far, with 4,48,939 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours.

“India has administered 187.26 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” the data said. (UNI)
