COVID-19: India records 1,778 cases, 62 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: As many as 1,778 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. 

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,30,12,749 while the death toll rose to 5,16,605 as 62 succumbed to the disease.

On a positive note, 2,542 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,24,73,057.

The recovery rate stands at 98.75 per cent. The active caseload stands at 23,087, the figures showed.

According to the bulletin, 78.42 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

India has administered 181.89 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
