COVID-19: India records 861 cases, 6 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 861 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,30,36,132 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Monday.

India reported 1,68,912 Covid cases same day last year, while it was 848 on April 11, 2020.

According to the ministry, six fatalities were recorded, taking the total death count to 5,21,691.

The active cases stand at 11,058, which comprises 0.03 per cent of the total infections. The national recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, 928 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total count to 4,25,03,383.

On the vaccination front, the Ministry said that 79.41 crore Covid tests have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 2, 71,211 tests have been conducted.

"India has administered 185.74 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," the data stated.

More than 188.88 crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. (UNI)
