Daily Spike of nCOV cases drops below 2 lakh cases, 3660 succumbs

New Delhi: India registered 1,86,364 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 3,660 casualties in the past 24 hours, according to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.
The fresh addition took the cumulative caseload to 2,75,55,457 while the death toll soared to 3,18,895.
 
The active caseload in the country is 23,43,152 comprising 8.50 per cent of the total infections while 2,48,93,410 people have recovered from disease so far amounting 90.34 per cent of recovery rate. The case fatality rate stands at 1.16 per cent.
 
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 33.90,39,861 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Of this, 20,70,508 were tested in the past one day..
On the vaccination front, a total of 20,57,20,660 people have been vaccinated across the country till now with 29,19,699 administered in the last 24 hours.

On thrusday, 2,11,298 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 3,847 casualties were recorded.

Over 1.84 cr COVID-19 vaccine doses still available with states & UTs: Health Ministry
 
More than 1.84 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses (1,84,92,677) are still available with the states and Union Territories (UTs) to be administered, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said here on Friday.
 
Furthermore, 3 lakh (3,20,380) vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the states and UTs within the next three days, the Ministry said in a statement.
 
The Centre has so far provided, both through the free of cost category and through direct state procurement category, more than 22.46 crore vaccine doses (22,46,08,010) to states and UTs.
 
Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 20,48,04,853 doses (as per data available at 0800 hrs today).(UNI)
