Washington: Women who consume a healthy diet, consisting of grains, legumes, vegetable, fruit, nuts, low-fat dairy products, fish and moderate alcohol, reduce their risk of hearing loss by around 30 per cent, a study by Brigham and Women's Hospital has revealed.
According to Sharon Curhan, MD, Epidemiologist in the Channing Division of Network Medicine at BWH and first author of the study, "Eating well contributes to overall good health, and it may also be helpful in reducing the risk of hearing loss."

The study, conducted on 70,966 women for 22 years and published in the Journal of Nutrition last week, showed that women whose diets closely resembled healthy patterns had an around 33 per cent lower risk of moderate or worse hearing loss, compared with women whose diets resembled the dietary patterns the least, Science Daily reported.(UNI)
