Kolkata: Bhowanipur 75 Palli heralded the autumnal ritual with the Khuti Puja on Sunday to mark the start of Durga puja proceedings this year.
Bhowanipur 75 Palli is one of the eye catcher puja of the city for its innovative concept and celebration style. This Puja is particularly famous for its unique style of pandals and also for the social work which the committee carries out throughout the year.
Over the years senior politicians, celebrities from Tollywood, Theatre personalities, eminent litterateurs, industrialists etc. have regularly visited this Puja to make it a grand success.
The occasion was glittered by the presence of various eminent personalities like: Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata, Minister in Charge - Transport, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and Housing, Govt. of WB; Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister of Agriculture, Govt of WB; Debasish Kumar, MLA; Kartik Banerjee, Social Activist; Papiya Singh, Councillor; Sandip Ranjan Bakshi, Councillor; Ashim Basu, Councillor; Sayan Deb Chatterjee, State Secretary of West Bengal Trinamool Youth Congress; Babun Banerjee, President Bengal Olympic Association & many other eminent personalities.
With Khuti Puja happening all over the city and Dhaks playing alongside, Bhowanipur 75 Palli marked the heralding of the Durga Puja with the presence of these renowned personalities. Bhowanipur 75 Palli takes immense pride to celebrate the 58th year with much opulence and creativity.
The Committee has always tried to create a niche amongst all contemporary pujas by bringing about uniqueness through the concept and in the thought process that goes into the festivity like pandal creation, idol, ambience, safety and communal harmony.
Bhowanipur 75 Palli has been known for its state of the art presentation over the years and hopefully this year will be even grander.
Speaking to the media, Subir Das, Club Secretary said, “The huge success and multiple awards which we have received over the years always charge us for doing better in present year. This time the main focus will be celebration of UNESCO’s recognition of Kolkata’s Durga Puja. We are expecting a lot of visitors from foreign countries due to this recognition. We are awaiting instructions from the State Government about how to celebrate this recognition conferred by UNESCO and will schedule our programs accordingly.”
“However, with Covid threat still looming large, we will be responsible enough to not allow huge gatherings and follow all protocols recommended by the administration. We are confident enough that people will not only appreciate our Puja but also the discipline we will be adhering to for keeping Corona virus at bay”, he added inviting everyone to come to the puja with family and friends.
