Manali:A 33-year-old Russian woman, who was part of a study tour, was gang-raped by two unknown miscreants here. The state police has booked two unknown people for the heinous crime.
Police chief of Kulu Shalini Agnihotri confirmed that the survivor lodged a complaint regarding the incident which took place on Friday night. The culprits are yet to be identified. The survivor's study group was in the town since last one week.
She was on the way to Hadimba temple from Old Manali after having dinner when the incident took place. Since the woman was not familiar with crime spot, the scene of crime is yet to be established. She was also clueless about the identification of the accused.
The medical examination of the victim was carried out on Saturday and various other evidences and DNA samples collected to probe the crime. State police informed the concerned Russian consulates about the crime. (UNI)
