Jakarta: A 6.4 magnitude quake rocked Indonesia’s Lombok region on Sunday, killing at least 10 people, the country’s disaster mitigation agency said.
The temblor, which struck the northern part of the island at 6.47am local time and was epicentred at 30.7 miles north-east of the city of Mataram, extensively damaged the buildings, a report in United Kingdom daily The Daily Express said.
The earthquake was followed by a magnitude 5.4 aftershock in the same area at 0.06 am British Summer Time (BST), United States Geological Survey (USGS) said. (UNI)
