2 Terror suspects who shot TN SSI also killed a BJP and Hindu Leader in past

Thiruvanathapuram:A Special Sub Inspector (SSI) of Tamil Nadu Police was shot dead by two persons having terror links at Kaliyakkavilai check post on Kerala-Tamil Nadu border on Wednesday night.
Talking to newspersons here on Thursday, Kerala DGP Loknath Behra said the State Police was coordinating with Tamil Nadu police to trace the culprits who came from the neighbouring Kanyakumari district. 
 
The SSI, who died on the spot, was identified as Wilson. He was shot  dead by Thoufeeq and Abdul Sameer having links with terrorist organisation, sources said.
 
According to the Q Branch of Tamil Nadu, the culprits were involved in the murders of a BJP leader in Kanyakumari and a Hindu leader in Chennai. 
 
Following the incident, Tamil Nadu DGP J K Tripathy reached Thiruvananthapuram and held a discussion with Mr Loknath Behera at Shanghumukham on the shooting incident here this afternoon.

Thiruvananthapuram: In a bid to apprehend the two persons having terror links and shot dead a Special Sub-Inspector (SSI) of Tamil Nadu Police at Kaliyakkavilai checkpost on Kerala-Tamil Nadu border on Wednesday night, Kerala Director General of Police Loknath Behra  on Thursday announced a reward for those who divulge  information about the assailants.
 
Mr Behra provided two police control room numbers 0471 2722500,  9497900999 in this regard, an official release said.
 
Mr Behra  and Tamil Nadu DGP J K Tripathy met at Shanghumukham here this afternoon and held discussion on the shooting incident..
 
The photographs of the culprits, who have been identified as Thoufeeq and Shameem, were also released by the Kerala Police.
 
According to Q Branch of Tamil Nadu, a four-member terrorist gang entered Kerala from the neighbouring district to carryout attack in the State.
 
The SSI, identified as Wilson (58)  was on duty at the checkpost when the two fired four times at him. He died on the spot.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today condoled the killing of SSI Wilson, who was shot dead by a two member gang in Kanniyakumari last night and said stringent action would be taken against the killers.
 
Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address in the State Assembly, he promised financial assistance to the family of the slain SSI, who has left behind his wife and two daughters, and a government job to one of them on compassionate grounds based on their qualifications. 
 
Detailing the incident, he said when the police personnel were involved in routine vehicle checks at Kaliyakkavilai check post in Kanniyakumari district on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, two unidentified persons shot Wilson, attached to Kaliyakkavilai station, and also stabbed him and fled the scene. 
 
Wilson was rushed to Kuzhithurai government hospital, where doctors declared him 
dead.
 
Stating that senior police officials, including the South Zone IG and the district SP were holding inquiries at the spot, Mr Palaniswami said following his instructions Director General of Police J K Tripathy also rushed to the spot to hold an inquiry.
 
Stating that two bullets were seized from the spot by the police, the Chief Minister said four special teams were formed to nab the killers.
 
The special teams were analysing the CCTV footages installed in shops and houses in the area and assured that the killers would soon be nabbed and stringent punishment would be given to them.
 
Mr Palaniswami also expressed shock and grief over the killing and offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.(UNI)
