New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested climate activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru for being allegedly involved in sharing on social media a “toolkit” related to farmers’ protests against three agricultural laws.
An official of Delhi Police said on Sunday that the 22-year-old was arrested by the cyber cell team of Delhi Police on Saturday.
Disha was arrested from Bengaluru in connection with a criminal conspiracy investigation related to the “toolkit” document, he added.
“She is one of the editors of the “toolkit” and the key conspirator in the matter of formulation and dissemination of the document,” said the official.
He added that Disha was presented before a court here today, from where she was sent to five days police custody.
Police is also investigating whether she was in contact with more people, who are involved in the case.
Delhi Police on Friday asked Google and other social media companies to provide information about email IDs, domain URLs and some social media accounts associated with the makers of the “toolkit”.
This “toolkit” was shared on Twitter by climate activist Greta Thunberg and others.
The Delhi Police had filed an FIR against the “toolkit” makers on February 4. (UNI)
