3 MLCs, who resigned from SP BSP, join BJP

Lucknow: Three former Uttar Pradesh council members, two of Samajwadi Party and one of Bahujan Samaj Party, who resigned on Saturday last, today joined the BJP in presence of party's national President Amit Shah. The three MLCs who joined the BJP are Yashwant Singh and Bhukkal Nawab (both from SP) and Thakur Jaiveer Singh (from BSP). UP BJP party president and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya gave the new entrants the membership of the party at the state party headquarters.
 

Mr Singh was three time MLC and a close associate of Independent MLA and former UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya. Mr Nawab was two time MLC and a close associate of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav. Former BSP leader Thakur Jaiveer Singh and a Minister in the previous Mayawati government, is a strong leader of Thakur community from Aligarh. The event was kept low profile and even media was not allowed inside the party's headquarter. (UNI)
