8 Dera followers arrested for attacking petrol pump on Aug 25

Faridkot: Punjab police have arrested eight more Dera followers for allegedly attacking the petrol pump in Chahal village in this district on August 25 after the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh by a special CBI court in rape cases. Congress supporter and filling station owner Chamkaur Singh Sekhon in his complaint to the police said about 25 Dera followers attacked his petrol pump and caused considerable loss to the filling station and his car parked there.
 

Those arrested have been identified as Narinder Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Gurwinder Singh, Marpreet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Randeep Singh, Pawan Kumar and Parwinder Singh. Earlier, police had arrested Sandeep Kumar, Kamaldeep Singh, Baljinder Singh, Gurtej Singh and Jasveer Singh in this case. The investigation officer said the miscreants who tried to set the petrol pump on fire were identified from the CCTV footage. They also threatened the costumers at the petrol pump and damaged the vehicles. A case was register in this connection on the complaint of owner of the petrol pump. (UNI)
