New Delhi: The Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party which had tasted a series of defeats in the elections, including civic polls in Delhi emerge victorious in the Bawana by-election with its candidate Ram Chander taking an unassailable lead over its rival BJP candidate Ved Prakash.
After trailing in the initial rounds of counting, the ruling AAP took a lead over its rivals Congress and BJP. At the end of 28 rounds of counting, AAP's Ram Chander took a lead of 24052 votes over his rival Ved Prakash of the BJP. The AAP candidate has secured 59886 votes as against BJP's Ved Prakash 35834 and Surender Kumar of the Congress 31919 votes. (UNI)
