After the cancellation of CBSE, CISCE Class 12 board exams, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Rajasthan on Tuesday announced the cancellation of class 12 state board exams.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has cancelled the Class 12 or HSC board exams in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister’s Office said: “In the wider health interests of the students, Gujarat Govt, under the direction of CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp, cancels Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Class-12 examination in view of the prevailing situation of COVID-19 pandemic.”
MP govt cancels Class XII Board Exam
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday announced that the state Board of Secondary Education's higher secondary examinations stand cancelled for this academic year.
“Children's lives are invaluable; contemplation regarding careers may be done at a later stage. At this juncture, the COVID-19 crisis confronts us. Therefore, it shall be improper to impose a mental burden on pupils. A ministerial group has been constituted to determine the manner in which the 12th standard results will be finalised. The body shall discuss the issue with experts and consider avenues such as internal assessment. Earlier, we decided to annul high school exams. If any 12th class student wishes to appear for the tests with the objective of improving his or her performance then that route will always be open once the pandemic abates,” the senior politician averred in a message.
Uttarakhand govt scraps Class 12 state board exams
Uttarakhand government on Wednesday cancelled Uttarakhand Intermediate board exams in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
The decision was taken in a meeting headed by state Education Minister Arvind Pandey.
Announcing cancellation, Mr Pandey said that Uttarakhand Intermediate board exams have been cancelled on the lines of the CBSE and ICSE boards.
He asked the officials to follow criteria that the CBSE will use to evaluate marks.
Haryana will follow Centre's directions regarding Class XII exams: Minister
Chandigarh: Haryana Education and Forest Minister Kanwar Pal put an end to all the speculations regarding the Class XII examination of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani and said that the State Government will follow the directions of the Central Government in this regard and will conduct internal assessment based on which the results will be declared soon.
The result of Class X exam will also be declared by June 15, 2021, the Education Minister said on Wednesday.
He said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation is not conducive for conducting the examination. But if a child wants to take the examination, then the examination can be conducted for such students when the circumstances are normal.
Rajasthan Board (RBSE) 10th, 12th Exams Cancelled
Class X and Class XII Board Exams conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (RBSE) has been cancelled, Minister for School Education Govind Singh Dotasra has said.
