After losing 2 aides in Encounter, Gangster Vikas Dubey held in Ujjain

Ujjain: In a stupendous success for the law-enforcement sphere, gangster Vikas Dubey" prime accused in Kanpur District's Choubepur encounter that resulted in the martyrdom of eight police personnel was placed under arrest here on Thursday.  
   

Confirming the development, a senior officer said, "The criminal was apprehended in Mahakal Chowki area and is under heavy guard."Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra described it as a collective feather in the cap for his officers and men.

"We were on high alert right from the juncture the dastardly Choubepur incident was perpetrated. Irrespective of whether a criminal is notorious or petty, such persons cannot escape my officers' clutches! Dubey had crossed every conceivable boundary of cruelty. Further information is awaited regarding this morning's police action within Ujjain's Mahakal Chowki limits," Home Minister Narottam Mishra averred during an interaction with the press in the state capital.
  
 A senior functionary of the state police said that the history-sheeter was caught in the vicinity of the ancient temple town's world-renowned Mahakaleshwar shrine when he was heading to 'pay his respects' to the presiding deity.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan interacted over phone with his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath on Thursday subsequent to the arrest in Ujjain of gangster Vikas Dubey who is prime accused in Kanpur District's Choubepur encounter that resulted in the martyrdom of eight police personnel.  
   
While furnishing details regarding the vital law-enforcement action, Mr Chouhan informed the other senior politician that the criminal would be handed over to that state's police, it was officially learnt.Though UNI received inputs regarding a couple of Dubey's accomplices being taken into custody, this could not be immediately confirmed.

Two more Vikas Dubey's accomplices killed in police encounters
 
Lucknow:Uttar Pradesh Police's stern action continue on the gang members of most wanted gangster Vikas Dubey as two more of his close accomplices were gunned down by STF in Kanpur and Etawah respectively on Thursday.
 
In Kanpur, Dubey's close aide Prabhat Mishra was gunned down by STF under Panki police station area when the criminal, who was being brought to Kanpur from Faridabad under transit remand, tried to flee from the clutches of the security personnel. 
   
In another encounter in Etawah, Ranveer alias Babua Dubey was killed under Bakerwar police station area on early Thursday.
      
ADG ( Law and order) Prashant Kumar has confirmed of both the encounters. The deceased criminals carried a reward of Rs 50,000 each on their head and were among the 18 criminals who were with Vikas in killing of the police men.
    
With these two encounters, a total of five criminals, who were with Vikas Dubey in killing 8 policemen at Bikaru village on Friday last have been killed so far. 
    
Though Vikas is still absconding and police was trailing him, yesterday his right hand man Amar Dubey was shot dead in an encounter in Hamirpur. Two other criminals were shot dead on the same day when the policemen were ambushed.(UNI)
