AIADMK leader Sasikala bids adieu to Tamilnadu Politics

AIADMK leader Sasikala bids adieu to Tamilnadu Politics
, Wednesday, 3 March 2021 (23:25 IST)
Chennai: Few days after the Election commission announced the dates of Polling, AIADMK leader Sasikala has bid adieu to her political career. After taking the vital step she appealed to Jayalalitha supporters of AIADMK to stay united and battle it out in the upcoming assembly polls.

Her decision comes to a shocker as it was expected Sasikala will contest the election after her release. However, she had made up her mind to sit out of the fence. Sasikala stated she will pray for the golden Tamilnadu which was the dream of the late Jayalalitha and told amma supporters to make ensure DMK doesn't get the throne of Tamilnadu.

In a two-page statement issued late last night, she, however, did not attribute any reason for her decision to keep away from politics, while exhorting the 'true followers' of Ms Jayalalithaa to stay united, work hard and ensure that the opposition DMK did not come back to power
after the April six Assembly elections and establish the golden rule of'Amma'.

The “true followers” of Ms Jayalalithaa must “remain united, act wisely and work hard” during the Assembly elections so that the DMK, “our common enemy and evil force, as identified by Amma (Jayalalithaa), does not return to power and the golden rule of Amma is established
in Tamil Nadu”.

Thanking all those who had showered their “affection and concern” on her, Sasikala claimed that she was “never keen on occupying any office or position of authority. I will ever remain indebted to Puratchi Thalaivi’s (Jayalalithaa’s) affectionate followers and the people of
Tamil Nadu”.

She also said that she would “continue to pray to Ms Jayalalithaa and God for the establishment of the golden reign of Amma”. Ms Sasikala's sudden decision to keep away from politics comes amid reports that BJP, a key ally of the AIADMK, suggesting to take the AMMK, floated by her nephew TTV Dhinakaran, on board its alliance.
It is to be noted Erstwhile AIADMK leader and close aide of the late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Shashikala Natarajan had been released officially from the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, after serving four years sentence in a corruption case recently.

The Tamil Nadu leader had been convicted in the disproportionate Asset case in 2017 and was serving the sentence at the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, since then.

After her release from Central jail on January 27 she underwent treatment for Corona and moved into a private Resort before leaving for Chennai.Hundreds of her supporters had arrived near her resort at Kodagurki village in Devanahalli taluk of Bengaluru Rural district to welcome their leader back to Tamil Nadu.
