Amit Shah to attend Swamiji’s birth anniversary celebrations in Bengal

New Delhi: BJP’s “Mission 2021,” flagged of on Saturday by party national president J P Nadda with his Bengal visit, will take its second “initiative” on Tuesday in the state with Union Home Minister Amit Shah participating in the 158th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.

According to sources here on Monday, Mr Shah is scheduled to attend number of programmes throughout the state tomorrow to commemorate Swamiji’s birth anniversary, including at his ancestral house at Simla Street in Kolkata.

Mr Shah, the ex-party chief, will also take part in other programmes to be organised by the Ramakrishna Mission and another at the Belur Math.

Ahead of the five Assembly elections, including Bengal this year, BJP had earlier decided to send the party top brass to all the five states.

Mr Shah is also likely to accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his proposed visit to the state on January 23, the125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The 294-seat Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in April-May.

Apart from Bengal, Assam, Kerala,Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will also go to polls during the same period. (UNI)
