Jagadanandapur:BJP president Jagat Prasad Nadda on Saturday said the budgetary allocation for agriculture in India has increased six times under the Narendra Modi government to Rs 1,34,000 crore from Rs 22,000 crore in 2013/14, and slammed the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal for depriving the farmers from having benefit of Rs 6000 under Krishak Bidhi Sambal and Rs 5 lakh life insurance under Aushman Bharat.
Launching the Krishak Suraksha Abhiyan in this district, known as the rice bowl of Bengal,Mr Nadda, however, assured the people that the BJP would implement all the central schemes once it came to power in "May 2021"
Mr Nadda was critical of a recent letter written by chief minister Mamata Banejree to PM Modi requesting to extend centrally initiated welfare schemes for the farmers and added that it was too late now.
" We will implement all the central schemes for the farmers as the people have vowed to vote for BJP and drive out the Mamata Banerjee government in May ( 2021)," Mr Nadda said amid cheers from the people.
Besides the Modi government has enhanced the budgetary provision to six times in past six years, the BJP government also increased MSP( minimum support price to the 50 percent and brought legislation for farmers who can directly sell their products to mandy.
Mr Nadda said the party workers would go to 40,000 gram sahva between January 24-30 and start krisak bhoj and clarify the merits of the three farm bills brought by the union government for farmers' welfare.
He said West Bengal stood at 24th in the agriculture of the 29 states in the country despite the state having plenty of waters for irrigation.He said the farmers want the facility of irrigation, which was lacking in West Bengal.
Mr Nadda also lambasted the government here for alleged changing names of the many central schemes and run those in the name of local names." This would not go nice to the people as they already know they are the central schemes and bless PM Modi".
Mr Nadda said citing an example like Swachh Bharat was changed to Nirmal Bangla. Mr Nadda also slammed the TMC regime saying the state was besieged under various scams like Saradha, Narada and even funds for Amphan was laundered.
Mr Nadda also vowed to extend all the central schemes and make people happy and prosperous under the BJP government once the party was voted to power in 2021 assembly, which is slated to April-May.Earlier, in the day Mr Nadda arrived at the Andal airport where state leadership and tribal people greeted him in traditional fanfare.
All the top and senior leadership of the state, including party's main observer Kailash Vijayvargiya, state president Dilip Ghosh and a huge number of followers received BJP's national president while he came out of the airport.His arrival was delayed by an hour due to late take off of his plane in Delhi due to poor visibility in the national capital.
Mr Vijayvargiya and Rahul Sinha said they have taken extra precaution for the well being and safety of Nadda this time considering an attack from the alleged TMC on the convoy of Nadda at Diamond harbour in South 24 Parganas when he visited last month." It is the duty of the state government to upkeep security for a visiting national leader and if this does not happen the BJP is well prepared for the safety of their leader,"
Mr Vijayvargiya, who was injured during the attack that time along with Mukul Roy, said.Mr Nadda is scheduled to have lunch in a farmer house (Katoa) in East Burdwan.Earlier he visited Radha Gobinda mandir here.(UNI)
